A brand-new year has come and it is the perfect time to start all over again. I am deeply grateful to the Almighty for all the things that happened to me in 2016 — good or bad. This 2017, I will reach for my goals, do more of what makes me happy, and go out of my comfort zone. I know there will be tons of obstacles that I need to surpass before accomplishing these, nonetheless, I will try my best to make them happen this year.
2016 in a Nutshell
By far, the toughest year of my life is 2016. My family experienced a few trials, which I thought we wouldn’t survive. However, I’m glad we were able to overcome these and here we are, stronger than ever. Just when we’re recovering from the loss of my brother, my mother got sick. She needed to undergo medication, but I am thankful it’s nothing serious. Then my father got into an accident. Thank goodness it was not fatal. If so, I really don’t know what to do; I bet I won’t be able to handle it anymore. Still, God is great because he saved him from that unfortunate incident. Today, they’re both well and good. And I am relieved that we got through these hard times together.
Not all bad things happened to me in 2016, there were also good ones — launched my own website, my second niece, Misha Elise, was born, my best friend and I reunited after two years, learned how to drive (but needs more practice), met new people, traveled to more places, had my first anniversary at APD, revisited my alma mater, as well as made more time for my family and friends. I guess, 2016 hasn’t been that unfair to me after all. There are still a lot to thank for despite the not-so-good things that I’ve experienced the past year.
Make it Happen
Now that it’s already 2017, I will do something that will make myself and family proud of. It’s been awhile since I felt that strong urge to reach for my own dreams. So, I’m on my way and I pray hard that God will guide me with this one. It will be taxing, nevertheless, I am ready.
If you want to see a difference in your life, make a move today. It’s never too late to achieve your life goals. Strive hard and you will reap the fruits of your labor at the right time. Thus, keep believing in yourself and turn your dreams into reality.
Happy New Year, everyone! May we all have a meaningful and joyous year ahead.
